I will not be watching the final even if a miracle happens and Murray reaches it. Who would want to spend several hours down the Market Square when they can watch in the comfort of their own homes on a possible 40" plus tv screen.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Murray hates the English and all things English which is ironic really 'cos should he win SW19 which is in England his world wide repuatation will be enhanced beyond all recognition and he has a lifetime of being able to live off the quodos of having won the worlds acknowledge centre of the game. Did I mention that Wimbledon is in England.

We English love him. If he wins he's British, if he loses he's Scottish.

During Queens Tennis week it was mentioned by a commentator that Royal Bank of Scotland was continuing for one year their sponsorship of Murray...Quoted cost £2million.I didn't pick up this in any media quotes so did anyone else pick up the story.
If so in effect we all have a stake in him.
Devils advocate here, would RBS be better ensuring £2million to small business loans and first time mortgages to the young.
Anyway whatever views I suppose it is certainly giving Britain a feel good factor

If by any chance the Market Square is full of people watching the Mens Tennis Final, we have been assured that it will not obstruct Carnival coming through x

So Carnival delayed to clear a path or the Tennis finals disturbed while the carnival goes through. Still not the best planning in the world as it relies on a lack of interest by the public in one or the other (or both).
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

the carnival organisers have enough to worry about without checking how the tennis is going.
these tennis finals can go on for ever, they play for not much more than 8 points then sit down for a cigarette and a cup of tea to recover.
