Yay !!!!!!! I'm so excited about this, Great stuff!!!! It's Brilliant news for the South East. I just hope they get enough bookings for DOUBLE daily flights to Amsterdam.
On the last occasion I flew to to Schiphol from Manston we were stranded there and had to return by Eurolines after EU Jet went bust.

Your Mr. Buchanan is one super-dooper quick change artiste, the bottom lip is a bit of a give-away though.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

I used to fly through Schiphol quite often when I was deepsea, joining and leaving ships in different parts of the world for my few months tour of duty.
It was a long time before I discovered that the name means Ship Hole because the airport is built on part of a vast reclaimed lake which used to experience severe storms and was the scene of countless shipwrecks, many of which lie under the airport!

Fantastic news. More, please!
When EU Jet flew to Amsterdam from Manston, we used it once and found the service was OK, but the flight coming home was bizarre in that it took longer to walk from the check-in desk to the departure gate than the actual flight. Schiphol is a BIG, BIG airport.....!
Won't be like that with KLM, though. Thank God.

I used to fly through Schiphol regularly. The first class lounge upstairs was fantastic- free drinks 24/7 and always a free hot and cold buffet which would put many a five star hotel to shame. KLM always make sure their flights are at gates near the departure lounges, cheapo airlines passengers face a long hike.

Well I had planned to take the mrs to Amsterdam for a long weekend over her birthday in April but the lowest return fare from Manston I can find is £170 each so it's going to be a ferry trip plus a 4 hour drive each way. Then I can stop off at Beerlijn in Delft and stock up with a few good Dutch & Belgian brews.

That price won't see many (any ?) takers; why does KLM have to hike the prices so much that no one flies. This won't do Manston much good at all.

It will get business travellers Roger, the flights are timed for that market. If a £170 fare saves you a £150 hotel bill you're quids in.

I appreciate the need for business-travel Peter, but for tourism in East Kent to benefit (including local businesses), prices must be more realistic.
