Good for you roger, I absolutely endorse your post.
Perhaps you should name and shame your narrow minded colleagues, in the name of transparency it's only right that we know who is holding up regeneration. Local elections take place next year, we have the right to know what we are voting for, not just who.
Thanks for your input roger, much appreciated.

Let's get a group together to fill the public seats at the meeting at which the revised application is considered, perhaps David would like to put himself forward to speak in support of the application. Or Charlie perhaps?

Roger, I guessed from your earlier comment you were a supporter
would it be possible to tell us why the Planning Department were against the plans.

Peter, I read that Charlie was against the plans something to do with litter if I remember correctly.

I'd be very happy to support that Peter.
This is another example of unelected and unaccountable people influencing our district in a negative manner, officers advising councillors. In parliament all votes are transparent, it's easy to find out what your MP voted for or against.
Roger will do himself a lot of good by letting us know who opposed the plans, it will give us the chance to write to councillors and ask them why.
I'm sure plenty are interested to hear why Charlie put litter ahead of employment. Not nuclear waste, a couple of crisp packets.

24, if that's the case, Jan, it's more do do with votes in Wootton, IMHO.

The refusal is based upon councillors taking on board an officer interpretation of officer- and civil servant-written policy statements. Policy statements are guidance not law and can be over-ridden if elected members so choose. Unless there's an election in the offing, of course.

It says document unavailable.
I'm afraid roger finds himself in a difficult position here not wishing to compromise his colleagues. Roger I know you're against the petition but this is the crux of what it's about: who do we blame? Who do we write to? Who do we punish at the ballot box?

Roger has often had the courage to question his colleagues' motives and I applaud him for it.

Thank you Peter and thank you too David.
I'd best not say anything about the new application, as I will be accused of "predetermination".

Those jobs are part of wider plans in a scoping opinion application applied for earlier, the economic case for this depends on these new events (which be annual, not a one off).
Lydden Parish Council commented in support of the scoping application because of the economic benefits following a public meeting with the site agents, where plans were discussed in detail.

I would never agree that the track should be used on Easter Sunday its the most holy day of the year and should be treated that way and good Friday.

Easy Peter - someone hasn't done their homework!
