Bob Frost (post 55) starts by replying to J Heron stating leave it to the elected reps, then finishes up giving a statement on why we should have all the 4 councils joined together.
Its a big change and going to cost millions to us taxpayers should we not have a say?

You misread me (again).
My final phrase is an open question 'and if so what is the best size of grouping?' which is very much what the arguments should be about.
I personally certainly have not , repeat not, been convinced that the 'super council' is the way forward.

One of these would be excellent in Love Dover.
All of the Councillors have made a great effort in high jacking this thread. By talking mega-councils etc.
However, and it will be noted.
Not one has given any input or suggestions about the
state of these premises in Biggin Street.
Together with the shops that have been empty for 18 years in Cannon Street.

You're such a pedant Lord Terson you always let facts get in the way of a good rant

Surely then, rather than being critical of the Mayor, a councillor for Buckland ward, for his failure to clean the town, rather you should be critical of the councillors for the ward containing Cannon and Biggin streets for not cleaning up their part of the town, or at least nagging to the powers that be in the Village to get them to issue the relevant orders to the respective landlords.

simple answer would be bulldozing the propertys and ending with a crypt type of garden.

Barrie you don't get it do you.The Town Mayor is the chairman of the DTC albeit he wears fancy robes for civic events. He should lead the Town Council in to taking action.See a previous post where I praised Cllr Precious on the work he is doing in Ayclifffe.

Sue, I hate to say it but your posts seem very biased against Mr. Rix. Some of these shops were in a similar state of dilapidation while Mr. Precious was Dover's mayor, but you have not been critical of the fact that he never got them cleaned up, instead you have praised him in another post for litter picking in Aycliffe now that he isn't the mayor any more.
'rubbish clearance at Aycliffe now here is a Town Councillor prepared to get stuck in and help the community he serves .Well done. Chris .'
..and when Anne Smith was mayor, and town councillor for Buckland ward, as is Mr. Rix, you said this...
'When Ann Smith was Mayor she also worked hard for her ward ,Buckland . And did a very good job'
no mention of her cleaning up the vacant shops, just for working hard for her ward, as does Mr. Rix I'm sure. These shops have been an eyesore throughout the reign of several of Dover's mayors, perhaps you should mention all their names in relation to the state of the town rather than just the current mayor.

Barrie what is wrong with being biased we all are to a certain extent, I would even say you seem to be biased in favour of Councillor Rix.

Not really Jan. I wasn't at all happy with that original poster that had Love Dover Ltd. on it, and when I checked there was no such limited company so I asked a question on the forum. Time has passed and it all appears to be above board, and someone has done something to hopefully improve the town by buying a property. No other mayor has taken such a big step to do something constructive, but Mr. Rix keeps getting criticised for not doing exactly what all previous mayors have also failed to do, at least as regards the disgusting shops that were pointed out earlier, but the same ex-mayors get complimented on how good they were at doing exactly what Mr. Rix has been doing. I'm not really biased towards Mr. Rix to any great extent, just fed up seeing him getting knocked for actually trying to do something. I don't disagree at all that previous mayors have made a good job of their mayorships (!), and have done it in they way they thought best.
