News agenda changed in three hours.
They missed the main points.
1.Road system around that area could not cope without extensive remodelling.
2. Government funding zilch in current climate.
3. Effects on Aycliffe & Dover Business.
4. Loss of Shakespeare Beach area.
5. 1500 spaces in T2 proposals & Eastern Docks. Funded by private sector. [whichever scheme]

8 February 2011 22:4292022paulw,point number 3 is spot on,its bad now let alone extra parking in the area. - 9 February 2011 09:3892050At the DHB meeting last year all present were informed that a proposal to demolish large numbers of buildings within the port which had funding of in excess of £40 million, was to put before the board members next day. This proposal when completed would have we were told, provided 600 parking spaces within the docks.
I am sure all those there will remember the proposal, so far their appears to have been no announcement from the DHB - Brian Dixon
