Voluntary groups:
To do voluntarily can mean a lot.
We have had on this Forum some people getting impatient because they perceived that their voluntary commitment was not being shared by larger numbers of people in the Community.
To volunteer will usually come from the soul, because someone wants to.
It's unlikely we will see everyone volunteering to everything free of an income:
councillors and officers working for free, the Police working for free, farms and factories where everyone volunteers to work free.
Free food and clothes in shops.
But should this utopia be established, please give us a ring!
Economy is based on work, it uses the money system, and involves spending money.
It is unlikely any person without an income would volunteer for anything.
People without a steady income are stressed off.
It doesn't mean you have to be paid for what you are volunteering to do, but you are likely to have an income that gives you security, such as a pension.
Volunteering to do something can still become manifest in many ways, without any reference to an income,
I am volunteering Sunday to go to Church at the Castle, because I want to, because I worked hard to pay for English Heritage membership that allows me entry all year through, and I take pleasure in leaving a donation in the Church to help for its upkeep.
I volunteer to do what I will.
