Modern day children not taught the basics .I was assured by four little darlings they would place their bottles in the bin.I asked them quite polity. when I returned from picking up litter .Yes they would place their empties in a bin .When I ventured out this afternoon what did I see four plastic bottles strewn on the grass .
A strongly worded email is sailing towards the school.I remember their little cherub faces butter would not melt ???

You painted a picture I would rather not have seen Brian.

Just because other people litter, vomit and throw kebabs about doesn't make fag ends littering the place ok as well.
Sue, not all modern children leave litter, please don't generalise.

During my few years in political life i visited many schools, and its well worth some effort made in this direction, children do listen, and many will take up the cause and agree with you, and do something about it

Perhaps Tesco could set an example and clear the hedgerows and verges along the A2 outside their premises of all their plastic bags.
Every litter helps!

I have always assumed those who throw litter have untidy and dirty homes.
Referring to the children issue, I would guess that at least 95% of the litter that is dropped in the Morrisons and Frith Road area is by those aged 14 and older.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

The growth of fast-food outlets and the increased prevalence of litter are both proof, if proof were needed, that we as a species in the urban setting are more 'grazers' than 'diners' these days. Although Howard is careful to shield us from the facts, as he photographs two-headed cattle, we all know that, that which grazes leaves it's mess in it's wake.
Still, it behoves us, with our present form of local democracy, to first see fewer full-to-overflowing litter bins before we deride the common hoard for doing as-the-Romans-do in adding to the mess.
It is most odd that, again as a gregarious species, we set up committees to help organise our society only to have these committees turn round and declare that it is 'we' who are the(ir?) problem.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.
Nicely put Tom.
