What with school leavers not having what it takes to be employed or pass muster to enter University, Gove's crazy schemes to by-pass local authority over-sight, playing fields sold off, (Olympic legacy?) and there being no jobs to go to and now a 'mortgage' required to enter further education. It is as well to remember that all of this is planned and delivered by those who have had the best education money can buy.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Leveson has dropped the ball..the Hunt ball. He did not want to be used as an adjudicator on the career of the beleaguered Jeremy Hunt...he tossed the ball back to Cameron last night.
The standard government/Tory line on this as we know was "lets wait and see what Leveson says" even used by the PM on PMQ. When all Ministers and everyone else says the same thing you know it is the official spinning line. But it wont spin any further now following Leveson's rejection. He refused to bring Hunts evidence forward in the schedule to accomodate Politicians...so there we are.
A new spin needed poste haste.
But it was never going to be the solution in reality. the Leveson report might not appear for another year, and who knows maybe even longer, running sores cannot be allowed to fester for that length of time. To continue with the dodgy health metaphors...the boil must be lanced!

the whole thing comes across as an expensive charade that is a good earner for those working on it.
leveson comes across as bored by the whole thing and most who take the stand appear to enjoy playing to the gallery.
Just a quick question: for any people complaining about 1)The Coalition, 2)Leveson, 3)the weather, may I ask genuinely, what is the alternative? The Leveson Roadshow is a direct response to the appalling abuse of power and wealth perpetrated by some who Reg might decide to call Elite Greedy Pigs, who intruded into the private lives of many many people and some of whom seem to still believe it was ok because "they were asking for it" or it was "in the public interest" to know the specific shape of some actresses pubes. If we did not have the current Government we would have Labour. I rest my case. As for the weather..............well, perhaps I was just being mischevous!

Courtesy The Times.
Downing St was given a humilitating rebuke by Lord Leveson amid growing Whitehall nervousness over calls for publication of private text messages.
Spokesman for the Lord said we will not judge `Hunt`s behaviour against the ministerial code as claimed by others.
They had also turned down bringing Hunts appearance forward. The lack of knowledge on procedures was questioned.Cleggy boasted they had already arranged for Hunt to be seen quickly, this annoyed the Leveson team as it implied that there was an `aggreement`between Downing St and the inquiry.
Sir Christpher Kelly chairman of Standards in public life committee has called on Cameron to refer Hunt to Sir Alex Alan.
One Special Advisor has told The Tmes ``It would be a nightmare for Special Advisors and government if everything texted to contacts was made public!!!.........should be interesting......bit like a risk register!!
Nothing in the world like a risk register, if you would only understand what that was. I rather admire your capacity to totally ignore anything that doesn't fit your concepts. I must try harder - I am sure i would feel much better for it.

BERN;
I fully understand your critical viewpoint of reg, but lets be a little fair here,
whilst you may not agree with him, he also has the right to post, just as he disagrees with you, but anyway never mind.
you miss the wider picture that reg paints this enquiry is just one of many aspects of how this conservative led govt has failed us.
now what -we can do is blame everything on g brown and labour
or we can deal with it

courtesy of the telegraph, seems like dave is leaving hunt hung out to dry.
David Cameron's spokesman opened the way for a Whitehall inquiry into Mr Hunt's conduct today and said: "If there is anything that suggests there has been a breach of the code the Prime Minister would of course act."
The statement is the first acknowledgement from Mr Cameron that Mr Hunt's future is in doubt.
It appears to increase the likelihood of a formal inquiry into whether he breached the ministerial code while he was considering whether Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation would be allowed to take full control of BSkyB, the broadcaster. Ultimately an inquiry into his ministerial conduct could order his removal from office.

Just to be clear, in case Keiths post #72 appears credible, I support Reg posting and welcome his views - there are times when I even look forward to them. Not sure why Keith would think otherwise, as he is always saying the great thing about this forum is our capacity to disagree courteously.
