mr flashman is putting the blame at the door of his civil servant advisers even though it was him that instigated the enquiry.
those same advisers will be laughing behind their hands now after their pay and conditions have been hit.

Osborne faces inquisition over Coulson and News Corp on Monday.
He faces cross examination ( Jay/Leveson ) regarding his role as chief Tory stategist as he plays a big part with the
media. Why did he recommend Coulson to be Cameron`s chief spin doctor and what was his relationship with NOTW when
Coulson was its editor ?
Cameron has spent several weeks `thinking` about his appearance and allies are concerned what
`stance` he should adopt. They prefer he copies Blair and admit his mistakes.
Senior Tories are concerned Cameron/Osborne will be asked about their meetings at `Davos`before election where it may be
construed a deal was done.
Others at `Davos` were James Murdoch,Rebekah Brookes and Fred Michel for News Corp and Coulson and Ed Llewellyn for
Conservatives.
Cameron will appear alone on Thursday !!!!!!!

Yes indeed the first of the big guns came to the.. ermm ..stage this morning, none other than former Labour Leader Gordon Brown. Gordon was surpisingly good and convincing as a witness. He in effect and in simple terms said that both Murdoch and Rebekah Brooks were lying on previous evidence, and said it in a believeable way.
Speaking in one instance about the publication of his young childs medical records..Brooks had said previously she had clearance from the Browns to use this. Mr Brown said this was not the case..."permission was neither implicity nor explicitly given " said he.
And asked what parent in the land would give such permission. He seemed believable and appeared to be telling the truth...Brooks on the other hand in her previous evidence....well...could you really believe anything she said??
It appears also that a member of the NHS staff passed the records/information on to the Sun. This I understand has been admitted by the NHS.

First session of the Leveson interview,if only he had been connected to a lie detector ...............
.
On `relevent`questions Osborne avoided eye contact with Robert Jay QC !!
Osborne was flushed thoughout with the usual `chorus` of forgetfullness and body language was uncomfortable.
Awaiting media reaction.....

Gideon was very unconvincing as a credible "witness" and looked extremely uncomfortable.

Second session. After head hunting Coulson he told Robert Jay QC after he had met him that he put him on a `short list` for
the job.
There was no `short list`.....Cameron spoke to Coulson after Osborne had phoned Cameron after the`interview`.

Osborne; The chorus of forgetfulness continues. He denies he had cosy relationship with the Murdoch Empire and had no
recollection of discussing BSkyB bid with anyone !!!! or had answers to any of the crucial questions. He denied as ``complete
nonsense``that the Tory High Command favoured the Murdoch Empire to get the BSkyB contract and regarded the whole
affair as merely a ``Political inconvenience``.In all the many, many meetings with all the top people in the Murdoch Empire
he cannot recall if he discussed BSkyB !!!!!!
Osborne `blames` Cabinet Secretary Jeremy Heywood for suggesting that Hunt be given the BSkyB project to deal with.
Osborne gave clear indication his government would not necessarily comply with Leveson`s proposals.
Are the pigs that are flying.... arrogant ?
Osborne`s appearance is seen as a ``smooth the way``for Cameron`s appearance on Thursday and has been regarded as
superficial and somewhat ``implausible``when he denied ,like Hunt, that he did not have sympathy for Murdoch`s bid.
So far,so banal but he cannot protect the Prime Minister who will try to brush aside why he gave the job to Hunt knowing his
public support for Murdoch`s bid.
Neither will it be sufficient to say he asked Coulson about phone hacking and his `over friendly` texts to Brooks and the use
of her horse.
All questions regarding the Prime Ministers judgement.
On these he is on his own.
