The charges should be detailed on the website and on the board at the parking area.

The car park is back open, and I have been told that there's no parking charges at the moment.

Motorists are being asked to pay by phone.

Yet again the assumption that everyone has a mobile phone, or if you have one it is fully charged.

NT members park free. Personally think the car park should be just NT members and disabled; it's only 20 minutes by foot from town in any case, and that way you have both a virtuous walk, exercise, and cleaner air when you get there. WNTL? Unhappily this would't suit NT, who're happy to have footpath erosion, traffic noise, pollution, sacks-full of rubbish, and fire damage from barbecues as consequences of increasing footfall.

They probably just decided it wasn't worth risking their health for the sake of a few extra pounds from those who don't have a phone. Seems like a fairly sensible approach to me!
(Also, I've heard you can still use your phone when it's not fully charged..

A few weeks ago motorists parked on the road each side of the entrance to the cliffs causing obstruction. Police dealt with it quickly. Now I understand the council has introduced “no waiting” restrictions in Upper Road / Reach Road and has put down yellow lines all the way along. Don’t think that enhances the natural beauty of the area especially at a time when the National Trust has been praised for increasing the wildlife on the cliffs. Sledge hammer and nut come to mind. Had it happened again the irresponsible parking could have been sorted in another less intrusive way I think.
