There is the (District) Council's noise polution hotline you can call if noise is a serious problem late at night.
When I was delivering the leaflets for the Clarendon Alley clean-up, I was in the top road and it was about lunchtime and the noise/music coming from one of the houses, was deafening.
I thoughht I ought to phone the Council on behalf of the people who lived next door or close by, but daren't complain.
When I got through and explained who I was and what was going on, I was told that I needed to be a resident not a passer by and so they would not do anything about it.
I found out later that this young guy plays very loud music - and I mean VERY LOUD music every day and upsets virtually all the neighbours, but no one will complain, so he continues doing it.
I don't know if the PCSO has spoken to him since - I'll find out.

when it ends up in court because some one assaults some one through frustration

their is a house in clarendon street that is just as bad, you can feel your head throbbing walking past.
i am told that it has been reported but nothing has been done.
The Post Office social club made neighbours lives a misery for well over 2 years with their Saturday night noise, every Saturday for years. Several people regularly complained to the Council department and even had people come out late at night to record the decibels. It was acknowledged to be a problem and a nuisance and letters were sent by the council to the appropriate people more than once, with advice about soundproofing etc. Nothing was ever done because the people running the social club chose to ignore the advice and the nuisance, and it was only when the damned thing was closed that it stopped.

Any complaint will carry more weight if can be made clear that the complainant knows the regulations and procedures and is aware of how to follow-up and is prepared to follow-up on any 'perceived' inaction by the body responsible. To that end...

Been there, done that. No result until the place closed anyway.

Howard, at my part of Folkestone Road, and on Malvern Road, where my window borders to, and on the sdjacant Clarendon Road, for the past week the Slovaks have been firing off bangers and crackers for hours each evening, and bawling to each other and whistling.
It gets on my nerves.
They make dogs bark all the time too, with their racket.
What can I do?

i know alex i see it every evening from my front window, happening now.
we suffered my end of the same road about 4 years ago from the same social grouping.
it is up to you and your neighbours to get together and make clear your disquiet, how you do it is up to you.
worked for us, other than the odd tenant from a dodgy landlord and a party now and again we are at peace now.

Some months back, uniformed officials and a Councillor came round to us, asking if we had any problems in the neighbourhood.
Being decent as I am, I suggested that the many Slovak children receive encouragement to play in a park, and that we could do with one somewhere in this area.
I explained that local children know where to go to play, but that the Slovaks always only hang around on the road breathing in pollution from the traffic. I claimed it was unfair on them and bad for their health. I was being diplomatic.
Next time I'll vent my real issue, that I am completely fed up with them.
The other day, a group of at least five of them were standing right in front of our gate flobbing, as I entered, and continued doing do.
The whole street is full of it, one sees 'em doing it all the time.
Ninty-nine percent of all shouting and bawling in this area is from them! One can't cross Malvern Road to get to the Newsagent without by-passing at least 15 of them, any time of the day.
Not to mention that they walk 5 abreast along the pavement and only give way 1 split second before I collide with one of them, as I absolutely refuse to step on the road.
It's a shame that the authorities haven't got the balls to teach these children not to bawl, whistle and flob in the street.
It's disgustung!

You have three District Councillors you can contact Alexander if (or rather, as) you have anti-social behaviour going on where you live.
One Conservative and two Labour, so if you have a political preference, you can choose either; or you can talk to whoever you think will help the most.
No one should be afraid to complain.
I will be happy to take up with the Community Safety Unit, your concerns & problems and let the PCSO - Ryan Bullows know too, he's not afraid to talk to the people causing the problems.
If you want to email me with details I will follow it up, if not, that's O.K. too.
Roger
What is flobbing?
However, apart from that, my advice is to keep a very strict log of happenings. This can only enhance your case and enables any compaint to be backed up with specific facts. times and dates.
Still I am relieved to know what all the noise is, since on one occasion since I have lived here I am sure that I heard gunshots (it was in the afternoon so probably not fireworks).

Among other things the word flobbing is slang for spitting

Thank you Roger, that's kind of you. I will email you, as some aspects of behaviour in this area are anti-social.
Diana, I have also heard gunshots in this area on several occasions, and not from an airgun either.
As for airguns, one was actually being used to shoot at seagulls, to shoot pellets over into our and other gardens, and believe it or not, it was actually aimed at my window!
A pellet wasn't fired in that occasion, but it was a severe offence nontheless.
No adult was present either.
