I am very saddened to report that our member Ken Baker (aka British MM) passed away at the weekend.
Many of you will have seen his amazing wildlife and automobile photographs on the forum, and met him at various events in the area
At the moment I don't know any funeral/collection details, but I am sure your thoughts will be with his family and friends at this sad time.
I am rather shocked as he was only posting his dragonfly pictures here on Saturday
RIP Ken
Been nice knowing you :)

I heard quite a few days ago from DDC (he was an employee there, but I don't every one of them), but wasn't sure if it was the same Ken - many people have the same name and it would have been awful to have said "our" Ken Baker had passed away, if it was actually another one.
I emailed PaulB asking if he knew, but neither of us did, so didn't post anything, just in case.
Thanks Scotchie for confiming it was "our" Ken; it was a complete surprise and very sudden - condolences to his family.

This has been a great shock. When someone goes suddenly it is just awful. Very sad for his family and very sad for us here on Doverforum too. He was a real member and made life that bit better for all of us with his contributions. His pictures were lovely and everytime I got stuck for the name of a vintage car in one of my pictures I would say...I will have to get Ken onto that one. He knew his cars.
As Paul Scotchie says there..he was just on here at the weekend talking about giving life to a damselfly. See that thread...he just recently added to the Bluebell thread too with one of his lovely pictures.
Very sad indeed and condolences to his family.

I only met Ken once, that was at the Film Festival when Andy Steele called him over as he thought we ought to meet. We got on well, sad to think that we shall never meet again.

I too was much taken with his attention, consideration and simple enjoyment in noticing that tiny difficulty and his helping with it and the sharing we me his recent Damsel Fly pictures.
He seems to have truly enjoyed life and that enjoyment was contagious.
RIP friend and stranger.
