So....for the every day driver what would you do with 40 ton of vehicle coming down hill towards you?

You see...the non driver is lost to all these things. Holy TRUCK! Is almost what I would say, now that I think about 'it'.

Oh my goodness lets hope the car driver carried clean underwear

Oh Lord !! Thats awful , was that a picture from tonight Paul ? I use this road on a daily basis and my greatest fear is that as I move out to pass a truck going up the hill Im going to meet someone headon , because they have misjudged the rules of the road
Is that a lorry coming down the hill the wrong way.....?! Jeez

I use a sat nav all the time, people use it as an excuse for not knowing traffic regulations or reading road signs.

Yes indeed welcome Neil. Chief Inspector now Ian by the looks of it.
But yes back to the picture. What a horror picture..everyone's worst nightmare for Jubilee Way... because if you see that coming towards you there is nowhere to go, nowhere to hide as it were. There are indeed two lanes going up but sweeping out wide to miss that would be difficult on such a bend. Good grief!

For a lot of people the SatNav seems to have removed the ability to read road signs!!
There's nothing wrong with using a SatNav as an AID to getting where you're going as long as you don't rely on it - and remember to update the maps occasionally (Dunkerque Guzzler?).
Maybe extending the barrier to the top of the hill would help, or at least a lot further up. It's not the first time this has happened and one day some poor s*d is going to end up wearing a 40-tonner as a bonnet badge!!

Gosh I think I would have had kittens had I have been confronted with that coming towards me, I am not a nervous driver but hey that would have put me well off my stride, looks like there was not alot of traffic about thank goodness.
