Yes a sad closure, but a brilliant opportunity to take over a restaurant that has had thousands of punds spent on it and is ready to go to the right person. It is a palace compared with when Adnan had it.
I have all the details in the office if anyone is interested.

I bumped into Adnan in Canterbury just before Christmas. He went bust and is now driving a taxi.

How are you doing David, you must be a subject you actually know something about.

Yep, I sure know a lot about me Tom
But seriously, if you mean how am I doing business wise, the answer is we are very busy but working very hard for little return. Our core customers are small businesses, as most of them are struggling they spend less with people like us. Retail outlets, pubs, restaurants, leisure etc are all having a hard time. We won't starve to death but I'd hate to calculate my hourly rate, most small business owners work for less than the min wage per hour a lot of the time.
We all have choices, but I doubt anybody would give me a job

Sorry to see that Jacks has gone, but I only saw it open once, and it was empty!

Very sad indeed. I guess it's a combination of the high rent and rates and not enough business to pay the bills and make a profit.
The fact that I have only heard good reports about the food there makes it more sad.
Adnan was not a good business owner - always seemed to be trying to rip people off - he tried it with me once. I think that when he first opened, his then partner was more level-headed and a good influence.
The Roman Quay is a chain-owned pub and they are just too greedy - Free Houses are always much better.

Sorry to see any pub close but I doubt that the RQ will be closed for long, the real problem is where will it's customers go in the mean time?

I don't think the WH has much to worry about, far far too far to walk/stagger. Nelson or the Castle get my vote.

Such a very sad shame, this place always did lovely food and service. As I'm sure Simon knows, there is a very sad story behind the closure of the restaurant - best of luck for the future to the departing tenants! I believe it did have links to Farriers Funeral Directors, so lets hope this does not forsight another impending closure for the town!
It is a lovely unit, and would suit quite a few people I know of, I willbe sure to let them know about this!
