In simple words, The National War Memorial is a proposal to honour the memories of all those men and women who fell in the two world wars fighting for the commonwealth. It is a totally separate subject to the CGI development and one I am very happy to say that I have supported for the last five years and continue to support.
The Immigration Removals Centre officer was at the meeting on Thursday to open and shut the room his presence was a matter of security and the Removals Centre remains completely neutral on the plans. The rest of the meeting was full of those who don't want their view changed, who (mistakenly) believe that a development will devalue their houses and some who genuinely care about the heritage of the area.
Whatever the title, how many threads do you want to start just so that you can be told these things over and over again?Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

We were getting simultaneously ideas for a mega WW memorial, for housing estates, and some of us probably lost track along the line as to who is campaigning for what, and for how many things, including the great flows of cash that would go into local shops and restaurants and the many jobs presumed would be created.
With this latest clarification of yours, I have amended the article on my blog. Hopefully it renders the more precise details.
