# 12.....totally agree...it is easy for some politicians to seat on the EU fence to keep below the parapet and within the general
public`s tendency to knee-jerk blame the EU for all our ills.
# 13 .....David keep to the holistic don`t drift into the minutiae and `gallery` speak.
# 16 .....from the `Forum`s` master propagandist....Soviet Union is `old` tired stuff and even before the ancient Brown cliches

"He (Dave) also signalled a referendum would go ahead even if he is forced into a second coalition", says Sky News.
So there is no turning back.

There won't be any u-turn on the referendum decision, Brian.
As things stand now, the only way to try to stop the referendum would be by voting for Labour.
But if the Tories draft legislation for an in-out ref. during the present legislation, prior to the next election, as DC says they'll do, then no party could legally deny us the vote.
If Labour try to deny us the democratic right to decide our Country's present and future, it will lead to a Constitutional crisis.
Ed Miliband in his speech today in Parliament made a point of informing us all how much Labour despises democracy.

There is no turning back from this.
The backbenchers will see to that even if Cameron weakens. A Conservative parliamentary majority will reinforce the Eurosceptic majority among Conservative MPs with the new blood it brings in. A Conservative majority government will mean the most Eurosceptic parliament we have ever had. The debate in the Conservative Party is no longer one between pro-Europeans and Sceptics but between degrees of scepticism. In other words reformers, the degree of reform needed and those of us who want the UK to be effectively out of the main EU political structures.

Brian, DC has made clear in his speech that he intends to stand as Prime Minister in the next government, so obviously he has made a commitment to the Conservative party that in return he will offer an in/out ref.
He could not - and would not - have made this commitment without prior consultation with the Tory MPs.
Hence, it is now official that Conservative policy is for a change in Britain's relationship with the European Union, and that we will have an in-out vote anyway.
I'm afraid you're playing a mute piano on this, Brian, with conjectures that can never come true: the Tories CANNOT renege this promise!

alex, barryw, the promice is fundamentaly wrong and flawed.
1,he has to win the next election with a good majoraty,100 plus would do.but cant seeing it happening.
2,has he dc used lip service to keep his back benchers quiet.
3,75% of the houe has said no along with most of europe and america.
4,the french has made it plane that they are not botherd.
5,germany has said no negotions on renewing britains renewall.
so in conclusion cameron and his ideas is stuffed.

Brian: "he has to win the next election with a good majority, 100 plus would do" ???
Who says so? I thought a 1 seat majority was enough to be in government.
Also, DC has stated that even in a future Coalition, his referendum commitment is binding.
Then: "3,75% of the houe has said no along with most of europe and america"
What has America got to do with Britain and an EU referendum?

what about the other 96.25% of the house.
and you need more than 1 seat to have a working majority.
america needs us as a go between, and europe has no to the changes.so cameron all gas and no trouses.

Conservatives wining a majority at the next election is very slim
The libs and labour will work together to prevent a referendum on Europe possibility not contesting marginal seats ,tactical standing .
The conservatives have supported expansion of the EU Encouraging the poverty of Europe to come to the UK,
In January when the hordes turn up from Bulgaria and Romania they will lose even more voters adding to there election defeat
Dave Cameron is not concerned about a referendum because he knows the chances of there being a conservative government is non existents
Cameron is a snake and will not allowed withdrawal from the EU
There all thieving to much from it

i wouldn't take for granted the next election result keith with so long to go, in the last few days the blues have climbed in the polls due to our intervention in mali - so many imponderables.
rather harsh to refer to our p.m. as a snake even though he was seen slithering under the door of number 10 recently.

The borrowing is still out of control Howard the country is in decline surviving on credit, not good for a sitting government on election day
Especially when the cash dry's up
