Has been discussed on here Sue and then I thought forgotten about until today. I can't remember whether it was paid for by DDC,DTC or both.

I do hope there is more to it than that that some pretty substantial steel for a few pruned privets!

The steel does look a bit over the top, meanwhile our sailing ships look a sorry sight.

Dovers exhibit to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday has a right to look green when you consider the thought that must have gone into this one:
..........notice the clever theme.......queens in their birthday suits!

Do nothing and nothing happens.

It's very nice and fitting for the occasion. It doesn't look like it cost too much either which is commendable in these austere times. £500 - 1000, I would guess at?

Quite a mixed reaction across social media some positive comments but the usual suspects slag it off. If they dislike Dover so much why don't they move somewhere else and leave the place to us that like it despite shortcomings.

I think it looks good .No matter what the Councils do there is always someone ready to put a damper on things.

Exactly Howard, strange they never say why they stay when challenged. So far the positives far outweigh the negatives.
Apparently someone has already seen some moron allow their kid to climb on it.

Its better than i thought it would be but i,d still prefere a fountain. If kids have already started climbing it i doubt it will be long before the drunks start to do the same.Really needs a barrier around it.
