Alex, you are sadly talking out of your rear landing carriage, and it is rather insulting to the very many genuinely abused and traumatised children and adults across the world. There are some who try to fake it, but they are quite easily spotted. If you can recognise trauma you can recognise its fakery too.

Bern, as I mentioned the other day, we cannot take in the millions of children you mention. Try campaigning for their rights to be treated decently in their own country. This is not Charityland, but our Country.
Perhaps you know of some other country who might like to take in millions of children from abroad? Why is it always us? Do we want them? I don't!

Good grief. I'm very near the mark Bern, I'll leave it alone.

grass grows by the inches but dies by the feet.
Alex, Millions? Try to calm yourself........I don't think, although I may be wrong, that social services are as we speak arriving at your door with half a million kids for you to fund and care for. If there is a knock at the door this evening and I am wrong, I apologise.
I think perhaps we should be trying to improve the lot of children across the world, as well as making sure they vulnerable ones are cared for. Those actions are not mutually exclusive. And although it is not "always us", I am rather proud that the UK treats children with respect and care, and am magnanimously prepared to overlook your misunderstanding of the situation because after all, we are culturally very generous over here.
Ian. I have just looked up and the air is, indeed, very very blue around me. thank Goodness the kids are out.......

Alexander, foreign nationals make up 6% of the claimants in this country (of whom probably 2% are 'illegal') so who exactly are taking us as 'soft touch UK'? With a ratio of 6% to 94% you could almost liken the foreign claimants to a splinter with the rest representing a plank. I am sure you know the rest of the reference.
Cambodians fleeing Pol Pot were kept in camps in Thailand because the Khemer Rouge was the recognised (by America and the UK) government. Obviously those refugees were making up a string of stories about the killing fields.
Why is it always us? Ask Pakistan or Germany.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Bern, you'd have my full moral support to improve the lot of unfortunate and abused children anywhere in the world, but as soon as one starts mentioning importing them here, most people will just turn away.
It's counter-productive, you're doing your own cause no good by always beating on that drum. Try campaigning for children's rights in their own country and most people, including myself, will go along with you!

Ian - you have the best ideas!!!!!
Chris - actually I don't know what I was going to say to you then other than thank you so much!!!
I am away to import a few unreasonably hungry children before getting a new flag made up for CharityLand as we are obviously overrun by those 2%.
