At long last my husband and I tried this restaurant for lunch today and enjoyed excellent locally caught cod, chips and peas for under £10 each.
Being a good cook myself I am quite hard to please but I can honestly say that everything was top notch - food, surroundings and service.
The restaurant is currently doing a special offer for January and February 2012 of 20.12% discount on all sales at all times of the day.
We shall certainly be returning.
Just to add that I have no connection with this restaurant!

I think you'll find that it is locally caught potatoes. It's the type of net used that makes them chips.

Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

good to hear of a local business doing well, there were a lot of problems under the previous management.
We have enjoyed this restaurant at the end of last year - it was good, but my favourite bit was the view. I love dining with a sea view.

With the Dover Marina Hotel offering 2 - 4 - 1 on their breakfasts, table d'hote lunches and dinners as well as afternoon teas, there's never been a better time to dine at one of our seafront restaurants.

We must never lose sight that the Seasports Centre was built for people interesed in water sports .

It was my understanding that most of the water sports have had to move out as they cant afford the rent....

My point .a lot of public funding went into that building .Some put a lot of time and effort into the project which was to continue watersports for all. The rents went up by a large amount .
It is a fine restaurant however I campaigned for a facility for people to enjoy the water and to be able to sit and have a cheap sandwich .Youngesters who are learning to sail want a quick cheap snack .

sue,can you define water sports,as there is two [2] kinds of water sport.

The two are not mutually exclusive, Sue. I would like to think we can support a variety of businesses in Dover.

It seems a bit odd to increase the rents by so much in turn losing the facilities that the Seasports Centre was built for

The old ramshackle buildings that the organisations could afford were so well used and made the seafront vibrant, they have been/are being priced out of existence.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but who actually owns the building and is putting up the rents so much?

Not at all stupid I was wondering the same and some more.
Who actually runs the place and is the sports section run separately from the restaurant. I have never been there

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Good questions! I think the restaurant is a separate franchise but have no idea who runs the rest. It will be the local authority who set ground rates though. Isn't it??

Not the local authority .Watersports Brian. The users are Dingy users ,Rowing and Life guards. Martin you are correct .The seafront was always vibrant even in the Winter as they had the Winter Series Sailing
I think Vista Leisure are going to take over the running of the sailing .
So who sets the rates?

The Restaurant provides rental income to help keep the centre viable.

so it is the district council that owns it?
