Of-course, Neil, I understand the point being made about recruiting more soldiers while others are being sent home. These latter practically become reservists who have military training, while the new recruits are being trained.
So the number of serving and reservist soldiers increases.
When my dad left the Army after 22 years service, after a few years he received notice to present himself at the barracks again.
If a war breaks out, the MoD will no doubt send a letter to the reservists to present at crack of dawn at the regimental barracks!
Vic, as I've already explained to you, the Government is pulling the troops out of Afghanistan by 2014 at the latest. These people were elected into Parliament and have the confidence of those who voted them first past the post.
You can't just say it's all rubbish.
If we all had just one view, the imposed view of those who shout loudest, there would be no democracy, and any discussion would become silenced into a dictatorship.
Our soldiers must never serve a dictatorship, which is why you don't see me at political meetings!
