the only two serving peers i have ever met(baron underhill of leyton and lord murray of epping forest) both used to travel up on the central line tube from home, walked at either end.
own of them owned a cortina and the other didn't drive.

they always look like snoozing, the speakers are in the top corner of their seats.
I thought the parties had to be roughly balanced because of the equal number of seats on each side of the chamber. We can't have everyone squashed up on one side !
Thats correct Howard- they do indeed have speakers in the back of seats and, if hard of hearing, a peer can be mistaken for being half asleep when listening to a debate.
