No, I was saying that that was what I thought the others were referring to. I don't have a problem with honours. I think overall they are a bit silly, but if they make people feel good about themselves who cares?

Nominations are open for the (annual?) Dover all Forumites Exceptional, Excuses and Exhibitionism awards. [The DAFTEES]
Categories are (non exhaustive):-
The Barry Williams, "Blue-Ribband" [in the gift of the nominee himself]
The Mcsweeny Golden Haggis award for impromptu photography [open category]
The Paul AKA Scotchie award for ubiquitous good works (AKA the small Scotch) [open category]
The Bernadette Trophy, for agreeing to disagree (one trophy per household) [open category]
The prestigious Boland Plate. Awarded to the winner of the Blakes' Castle Street handicap. (the damage to same, teeth marks, is a point of interest and not a flaw as neither P or B Boland wishes to part with it. "Clean enough to eat off the floor." It is said, just as well as it's the only plate in the house) [open race]
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

No U-Turn Keith. Read what I was actually saying in context without placing your own interpretation on it.

This award takes the biscuit for cronyism and makes a mockery of the whole thing, some choice language in the article.

I can not understand why there is such a fuss about this "reward", politicians have always given honours to their pals whichever party has been in power.
