Sustrans are what some might describe as a pseudo charity being funded largely by the taxpayer. They really are not very good at what they do judging by the cycle ways in Dover. Very amateurish in the end result. For example they use virtually no signage delineating where cycle ways begin or end leaving some cyclists using pavements where they have no legal right to do so being extremely dangerous for pedestrians.
As for those metal figures on the seafront I must admit I find it all very depressing. Who ever designed and installed them needs to go back to design school and metalwork classes. Have they not heard of hammerite?

have to agree with you there philip, note that i use your name when i reply.
a casual glance at the users of the various lanes when they do exist suggests that the general public are unaware of the new rules.
