Whilst the influx of refugees has certainly not helped the problems go much deeper than that (including almost 25% unemployment and the fact that, like in Italy, taxation has historically been viewed as almost 'voluntary').

It must be galling for the Greeks when they get criticised over the quality of accommodation for the refugees and the time it takes to process them when the country has nearly half their young people unemployed and a shortage of basic medicines.
