Had the following in yesterday from Cllr David Hannent..Big Dave...immediately below is a section of David's email and below that the press release from the Castle St Society
"
....More flags yet to go up ( mine last probably as I have to make the flagpoles and fix the flags in my spare time ). we have been putting flags up and tending the baskets for many years ( the Society was formed over 20 years ago and we want this year to be our best ever (and probably my last as climbing ladders isnt so easy now - Forum members have helped over the past few years). This year we had the advantage of enough sponsorship to hire a cherry picker to comply with H and S.
Particularly this year the Jubilee has got many traders in the street and beyond coughing up funds as this year we have had to renew the rusty steel brackets with aluminium ones. The baskets will appear in the next few days with extra flowers in specific areas. The full show may not be complete until the week after next.
Our brackets and flags are also seen elsewhere in the Town as we have helped others to do the same - always willing to help brighten all parts of the town - so if anyone wants advice we are available.
