  as you say the Tory led groups have slated Brown for his handling of the British economy but I heard on the radio that Brown is highly respected in financial circles for the way he galvanised action against the global meltdown and how his decisiveness was a model for other countries. Admittedly I heard this on the BBC that well known commy, pinko, wishy-washy, liberal mouthpiece for the incapable, the feckless, the illegal immigrants and the terrorist groups that are lying in wait to jump out on us on Friday and bring our world to an end. I thought it might be worth putting into the debate anyway!

  That surprises me, I'm sure you can find another MP who "only spoke twice" in Parliament last year, and plenty more for doing something else than "using all the time they were being paid to represent their constituents from public money"?
  
  In fact that's probably all of them, lol.
  
  But not so many that have given as much as GB has, to Charity.

  the gobbeldegook that you quote the WEF as describing themselves as just about says it all. Meanlingless. Well suited to Brown. I must say that is one way to find out what must not be done, ask Brown to advise what he would do!

  getting back to gordon, the financial times said that he got unfairly hammered over the financial crisis, they reckoned that he did as good a job as anyone could have done when the banking crisis started.

  You could say that if you ignore Brown's role in causing the banking crisis in the first place, going back to 1997 and his regulatory changes and his telling the banks to go out and take risks. It was their resulting buying up of small US banks that exposed them to a lot of the US toxic debt among other problems.
  
  That of course is also nothing to do with the wider mess he made of the UK economy that resulted in our having a structural deficit at the START of a recession.
  
  I could repeat the many, many other errors he made that added to our recessionary problems but will refrain from mentioning excessive taxation, red tape on business, taxing pensions schemes, discouraging savings, giving the BoE the wrong inflation brief. I wont mention the sale of gold either.
