Those mean and niggerdly posts raising "concerns" because a couple of groups are working in partnership and a new body is demonstrating support for the town are exactly what Dover does not need. Of course if there are concerns they should be raised, but come on..........

Hi Keith, the link that you suggest doesn't exist and it is just that the DPPT is being supportive of the Town Team and of their efforts, one of many organisations and individuals that are. I fail comprehend how an organisation whose prime motive is to see the best practice in port/town relationships established here in Dover showing support for a team established specifically to improve Dover Town can be cause for concern.
The way in which the Town Team have pulled together for the benefit of Dover and have produced such good work in a relatively short space of time is pretty admirable. An example of people working together for the benefit of Dover. Taking affirmative action instead of complaining and carping about what has not been done or what should be being done. The women and men of the Dover Town Team deserve fulsome praise and on-going support from all of us.

I have only just very recently heard about the Dover Town Team. From reading the above and another thread that is currently running on the Forum I'm guessing they must be a relatively new group. Its very good to see that they are being supported and indeed working in harmony with other established groups. As Neil says above, they have produced good work in such a short space of time. They have my full support, its so good to see this positive effort being made to improve the town of Dover.

Why must certain people on both sides of the political divide be so negative about efforts to move our town forward and improve things for everyone?
Is it because they didn't think of it themselves?
Is it because they don't control it? or were not invited to be involved?
Seriously some of you need to take a long cold hard look in the mirror and ask yourselves if you actually care about anyone other than yourselves.

Looks like they went to Jack's for a dinner and then discovered that no-one could foot the bill.
In the photos, everyone from Charlie down seems to be searching in their pocket for a wallet.
Why wasn't I invited? I run a business in Dover, DAM Painting and Decorating.
That said, well done to the Town Team

Good to see so many organisations with different agenda's coming together in support of Dover Town Team. It offers hope that all groups in the town can put aside differences and support the underlying objective of almost every group in the town and that is the betterment of the town. Improving the town should not be a matter of political objectives or vested interests but of all opinions working together for a common benefit. The Town Team are trying to achieve this and what they have managed so far shows that they have the drive to do great things. Well done them and all praise to those who support them unreservedly.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Good to see everyone getting together - even if the Portas thing fails it would still be good to have everyone working together

Been nice knowing you :)
