Not their land maybe but in their interest to make the area look presentable at a comparatively small cost to them, good neighbours and all that.

DDC advise this is the responsibility of the Town Council.I have asked them to speak to the Town Council.

i sense a stand off here, this is getting to look like the farce over the memorial benches.
surely the two councils can liaise on such simple matters?

looks even worse today.
i would guess that a series of motorists have pulled up and emptied their ashtrays into the garden.

There was a man sat on the bench there reading his paper yesterday lunchtime, so it does get used for other purposes.
Don't Morrison's have any responsibility?

most of the rubbish has been cleared now.
i don't think a litter picker was used as the cigarette ends are still there.
it appears that the rubbish was put in the bin in situ.

had a couple of interesting text messages in since posting those photos.
the suggestion is that the forgotten area pictured could be turned into a play area with Morrison's helping with the funding.
sounds like a win/win situation.

If Morrisons were to look after it I am sure it would look better than it does now, it would make a lovely extension to their cafe in the summer,
DTC have had no or minimal interest in the area since they put that silly fence up and installed that ugly bit of metal, sorry seat.

Must be a WCCP river clean, usually on a Sunday nowadays - surprised that they are working on the garden.

Just been into town and the river between the police station and K college was totally free of surface rubbish despite all the vegetation, best i can remember seeing it.
Had a brief chat with Paul Sampson who told me livestock will go back into Clarendon field in early autumn after a summer break.

The garden seems quite well used by now with more seating and no fence but there is only one litter bin that is overflowing. DTC really should liaise with DDC to keep the area tidy.
