There was a three piece suite on the grass verge at the Melbourne Av./GreenLane roundabout when I passed on the bus yesterday.

there were about 20 to 30 bags of varying colours in dolphin passage yesterday, all gone today but the loose stuff remains.

This is the corner of Granville Street and Beaconsfield. There seems to be a permanent pile of bags here of all types.
And this is the end of Balfour Road, a popular dumping site. Looks as though someones just emptied a bag here, they could at least have kept it in the bag.
This is next to the previous one, the other side of the wall. This is on private property so I don't suppose it will ever get cleared.
It really makes me despair when I see this every day. Why do people do it, it's beyond me.

the problem has reached epidemic proportions, nothing to do with the new bin regime.
some people do not understand the new system, others prefer not to try to understand and a small minority prefer to do just as they like.
waffle from the council about taking action against offenders rings rather hollow.

Why would someone want to dump what looks like normal household refuse at the end of a residential road. It must take more effort to do that than just put it out for collection. It baffles me.

'Rubbish detectives' are needed to find out where it is all coming from! And prosecute.
Some years ago a neighbour found several bags of rubbish dumped near Tilmanstone, and amongst the rubbish was a child's exercise book, with name and address in, which she took to the Council; the family who dumped the rubbish were traced and prosecuted !!

Colin - That's also an area for persistent dog fowling. I did challenge an occupant of the block over the road but was met with a shrug of the shoulders and "No English".
We have a new "man with barrow" who is very keen and efficient. On Monday he collected loads of litter from the alleys and pavements and left it all neatly orange bagged (as per instructions) on corners. There still there.

I've got into a pattern Howard. I take a black bag to the tip one week and put a purple one out the next.

Re post #44, Thank you Colin I've been meaning to take a photo of that for weeks but never got round to it.
collection along Balfour is on a Thursday morning, you can guarantee by Thursday evening there is a pile more.
I've seen waste services officers very rarely, but when I have they are on their mobile phones, head in the air and not a care in the world.
I applied for one of those jobs a few years ago but didn't get it cos I got a few sums wrong in the exam.
You need to be a rocket scientist to be a waste services officer you know. B+&£*"!s.

Oh nooooo! Roger will be having kittens when he sees that. Strewth!
What seems to be emerging here is that this looks like a weekly occurence at Gaol Lane. I think we assumed it as a one off last week. I note again there in the pix above a collection of meaty bones again, as per last week. Is that evidence of non household dumping?
Well done with all the pictures lads. Tell the full story dont they.

Can't believe it.
I've emailed waste services with those photos, asking if they are still at work, to ask Veolia to clear it.
Good to see Dolphn Passage clean - hope it stays that way for a while.
