Unfortunately during Nigel's answer I was banging my head on the table and trying not to scream.
However I believe he said
inter alia that
DDC had not yet applied for funding under the scheme as 'the funding does not meet the full capital cost nor the ongoing maintenance costs' though the Council was very keen to see the numbers of charging electric vehicle charging points increased, and welcomed the new installations at Lidl, Sholden and the St.James’ development.
So make of that what you will. There are also charging points at Vale View Road, Dover and the Discovery Park Sandwich.

Thank you! I've always thought there are very few charging points for a place with so many cars travelling through. Glad at least the St James development will have some.

Some of us have been insisting that they are put in with each new carpark/development. Still banging head against soft brick wall (you don't even get the satisfaction of your head hurting) over retrofitting to present carparks.
With Open Golf coming up we can expect loads of early adopters clogging up Deal/Sandwich with their Teslas so we really need to get our act together.

Hello. I work for Charlie. We have not had a backlog and as far as we are aware have tried to help or at the very least answered every constituent who has contacted us. Please can you call and give us your name so we can look into this?

How about Charlie helping the lady fighting with East kent housing and DDC for tenants as on this site. A disabled lady fighting for her situation she had been faced with, told she did not know the law by East Kent Housing manager and then DDC agreeing with EKH that officers can turn up at any time to a Council tenant home without notice. Maybe he would like to sort this for her and all the thousands of tenants in Dover and surrouding area because no-one else got guts to to do it.

If only everyone could be kind and honest what a better world we would be in.

I know this issue has been known for many years in this town and others well time someone done something about it. Whatever home you live in you should not be pestered without notice officers just knocking on your door at anytime 'hello we want to come in and speak to you'. you morgage your home dont see a bank manager knocking at your door when he wants to saying ' I want to come in and speak to you, your home is your home paid, morgaged whatever, that is her argument also. Sorry a bit off topic.

The difference is the bank can only own the home if you don't pay.
The council or housing or private landlord own the home.
The lady in question said they could not come in ergo they did not go in, if they had written with 24 hrs notice they could have entered regardless of her refusal(though would have required police attendance) I really fail to see what the problem is unless the lady has so little going on in her life that this helps her get through the day!

Oh you must know the case in full Reg and to make such assumptions of a lady fighting for rights takes a lot more than with nothing more to do with so little going on in her life. You must work for DDC or East Kent Housing Reg, myself I support those who fight in life not those who stand by and blow a lot of wind as you have. Attacking the lady personally wont make you any more or a man or a woman whatever you are Reg- You sound very much like her neighbour who made false accusations which she had evidence for those were false allegations....mmm

Going by your evasive answer you have not contacted Charlie or his staff, much preferring to hide behind your cloak of anonymity.

I know as much of the case as you have posted on the forum amberleaf.
I note that at every turn she has been told they have done nothing wrong and there is no case to answer, at some point she is going to have to accept that is the truth of it.
I have just been talking to my neighbour both of us housing association property renters and mentioned this situation, her reply was 'I would only be bothered if they turned up without notice and demanded entry'
What did I accuse her of?

Amberleaf50, can you please keep that issue to the thread you've already started - this topic is supposed to be about the council meeting. Thank you!
