Float Building Gang!!!!

Last year Dover Carnival Court walked their own Carnival and were unable to participate in many other processions due to the lack of a float.
Thanks to the lovely guys at Aylesham Carnival Association - Dover Town Carnival have been given the bare bones of a float! i.e. a 16 foot trailer and a curtain top (from a transit) to go on top.
What we need now and believe me we will be truly grateful is a gang of willing hands to volunteer to beg/borrow/steal materials and build the bare bones in to a float worthy of representing Dover throughout Kent.
At Deal, their Float Building Committee meet at a local pub and discuss what they are going to do (very appropriate for Forum members ) and then start work!!!!
Please Please Please guys Dover Carnival needs your help!
I will hold the paintbrush/screw driver, boil the kettle, bake a cake whatever it takes to persuade you to help out (within reason!!).
You dont have to give a long term commitment to the Carnival unless you want to, this is a start of the season project!!!!!!

Thanks to all who are supporting us we really do appreciate it.
Ken and John the float is being delivered to my house on Saturday morning!! Unfortunately I am at a Carnival Event in Deal Saturday but you are welcome to come and have a look a what you are letting yourselves in for 
The Court of Dover will be wearing Black and White this year (we couldnt put them in Dover Athletic kits but it was tempting! ) so the float will need to be in keeping with the colour scheme and anyone who know's Dover will know it is our intention to show our pride in the Dover Boys!!

We have a few volunteers now, the float needs to go to Aylesham for the top bit to be welded to the bottom bit after that we need to decide where we are going to work on it. It can come back to mine if necessary.
Loren (ex Miss Dover) has some basic designs, so I will get her to organise a meeting.
On another note we have had a great response to our cry for help for fundraising etc.. and we will of course be publicising all our sponsors over the next few months.
Dover Businesses Rock - Carnival Spirit is alive and kicking in Dover.
Bring it on.

- 6 February 2011 23:1391752How about the float theme being TSS Dover. A ferry on a carnival float from Dover seems to gel. The carnival queen could regally place herself with attendants on the foredeck. A carnival float in more ways than 1!Never give up...
