I only put food out occasionally now as I got feed up with the pigeons eating the lot leaving the other birds with nothing.

my problem is with the herring gull that lives on next door's roof, never yet had a pigeon other than a wood one.

this chap seemed to be having problems accessing grub earlier.

a pigeon had greater success later - great bit of multi tasking.

Yes winter must be here, I walked past the pet shop in town the other day and saw a sign 'Fat Balls 3 for £1'. Made me feel quite uncomfortable.

all peter has to do is wear looser fitting trousers.
been bombarded with our feathered friends today, the quicker i fill the feeders the emptier they become.
i cannot work out who the smaller birds are they are so quick i cannot even focus on them let alone take a photo, but had collared doves, wood pigeons and a magpie earlier.

That could be due to the fact that I have been leaving food out for them in my garden, there is a large queue for their breakfast each morning

worth noting that unclean bird tables can cause disease and even deaths to some birds.
washing up water and a good rinse is necessary every few weeks.

I gave up having a bird table the cat thought it was his very own sun-bed, I now use one of those metal stand things.

i find bird feeders the best when there is a convenient tree, more hygienic and safer from predators.
my cat spends a lot of time measuring up distance but the feeders are on branches that wouldn't take her weight.
