Schemes like this bus service are often thought up by tossers with no practical sense, the types that could give all the dimensions of a jam jar but wouldnt know how to get the lid off.

I notice the nice new road surface in Worthington Street has already been dug up.
Missed this article from earlier in the month.

That's actually good news for me - I can now go down town (using my bus pass) for a drink or two and then get the bus back up. Better than a taxi!

Lucky for you…
At Aycliffe our last buses to town are about 1850… nothing to or from Aycliffe after 7.00 pm. So anyone wanting to go into town for evening clubs etc..
Taxis are about 7 pounds

Apparently the buses are all to be covered by AA Breakdown in case of malfunction.
(Smaller electric cars are, of course, covered by AAA Breakdown)

Electric buses, yet another vanity project just to look squeaky clean n green.I doubt they will be anywhere as successful as their diesel equivalents.Seen so many firms, council contractors etc buy electric vans, trucks but when you speak to the people who have to work n drive them you then find out exactly what they are like.Often they will never achieve the mileage that is claimed when taking into account that this is a hilly district and with wipers, heaters and lights being used in winter months.I recently read of a council that brought electric bin lorries. They have only been able to cover a small part of their round before running out of puff and have since been withdrawn from service.I think electric in Hgvs and buses still has a long way to go to be successful.
