The Tories promote competition. This isn't competition.

depends i suppose on your viewpoint peter.
it appears what has happened is the comp;any in faversham undercut the dover company, thus the dover schools have a criteria to go for the cheaper option
more so in todays savage cuts in budgets.
thus the affect being dover shops close

True competition would be to allow any shop to compete. And making a 45 mile round trip to buy a school scarf is ludicrous.

It wasn't cheaper than Dover outlets could offer their school uniforms.
Peter Drew had an embroidery machine that digitally made the school emblems and was much cheaper for parents, but the schools told the parents where to buy their school uniforms and it wasn't from Dover outlets.

1; difference in cost
2; why schools made that decision

No Keefy the Faversham company was definitely not cheaper. I myself did the Faversham trip in true domestic mode as it was the only place we were allowed to go...I dont know why this is, but as the child was new to the school we thought we better do as told. When you add the train fare for three on top of the rest of it you can see how the costs would be considerably more.

Is the school in question, 'Kick-back academy'? The clue then would be in the name.

#32, I was going to ask the same question but as I own a business in the town I thought I'd keep quiet. Those horses' heads in the bed are quite worrying.

Re 33: One might ask but would one get an answer. We always felt so glad to have little BB as she was at the time, in the school in question, that we never asked anything to disturb the status quo for fear of...well..

my understanding is that schools do not have a say and it is kent county council that make the decison on where uniforms can be purchased.

HOWARD;
I think schools are given a lot more freedom these days to purchase where they want.
but the only way to find out the true answer is for someone to ask the schools
