It has slowly been working up though the management over the recent couple weeks with rumour that it is up to Director level now....
Not heard any more myself, but perhaps the Friends of Dover Castle might know more

Very sad seeing that Dover Castle is only open for one day over the Festive period this year - 31 December.
Lots of people want to find things to do with the family and friends over xmas. Port Lympne Wildlife Park was quite busy yesterday....

as was howletts.
the castle seems to be open for special high admission events but not so often for english heritage members and the general public.
it is a total scandal that properties like the castle are being taken away bit by bit from the general public.

Certainly missing a trick. It will be interesting to see their winter visitor numbers once April comes round compared to previous years....

They must be down Paul as if they aren't open, they can't take any money.
This must have been the daftest decision any corporate body has made - market it better, give special offers and reason for people to go there, not close it down.

They are open weekend, but they stated that the people who wanted to visit in the week would just go at the weekend instead...
