I think the bill will happen with a few changes made in it,but as I said before,it will see some cllrs packing up which will be sad to see,we need more parish cllrs not less.Or some parishs joining up with each other to make one council, and I would support it if that happens

it would mean making a parish councillor's duties more like a full time job, would just mean that fewer would stand.
the inevitable concusion is that vic would be on every kent town and parish council.

The logical/sensible/economical answer is ofcourse...................An East Kent Council...........and keep all the
Parish & Town Councils to do their excellent local work,They are on their own patch know exactly what their
town/village wants/needs..............they are all volunteers using relatively small precepts and will not be able to take on
a continual work load..................Our District Councils have lost to much funding and are incapable to perform their
mandatory and other services required and are extremely expensive with overloaded very expensive management
structures and their funding is reducing year on year on year.
Why wait until it all grinds to a halt? The economies of scale savings will provide the services we need and want.

Back to the WCCP for a moment.. whether they are a part of the Big Society or not, they certainly do their bit. They left their calling card at Morrisons waterfall in that the place is rubbish free, near as dammit. This picture was taken this morning, half an hour ago approx..
Previously we have seen all sorts of rubbish there, estate agents signs even.... but now all clean and tidy.
That is wonderful, PaulB! Lovely Pic and a breath of fresh air for the river. Haven't seen it that clear in a while....

that is the cleanest i have seen it for a time, volunteers will not be allowed into the water again until next march.
all down to how our fellow townspeople treat the river until then.

Yes indeed, so let's hope the yobs/brain-dead morons who throw all sorts of stuff in the river, don't start doing so too quickly.
