Looked at the Wellington Dock last night and there looked a lot of water still in there, thought it would be empty by now?

Will have a look then Howard, still puzzled how they actually drain it with water sources at both ends but no doubt all will become clear.

Apparently it isn't being 'drained' it is just being allowed to be tidal so they can remove the lock gates....

So Paul will actually go to no water in there at low tide?

I think not as we currently have a tidal range of 5.2m and the depth markers in the Wellington indicate 7m at high tide.

That is a shame was looking forward to seeing what was on the sea bed, I know they pulled out a discarded satellite dish the other day!

looked a depressing sight from de bradelie at about 2 p.m(8 bells for those nautical chaps).
a bright light already shining out from premises in snargate street, nice to see a couple of brightly painted buildings though.

The marina is probably about as drained as it's going to be right now.

Looks quite strange today, assume it must have been around low tide

I love the brightly painted houses along Snargate Street, they really make a lovely photo as in Howard's pix above

The Wellington Dock was down to the bare mud across about half of it at lunchtime today, the stench was vile. Two huge cranes were in position to lift the gates off.
