a goal in injury time for dover decided the outcome tonight, the visitors missing a late penalty.

We missed a penalty too. A dreadful game of hit & hope and players bunched together on one side of the pitch, with the very occasional pass.

Would I be right in thinking with Salisbury drawing 0-0 then Dover are now 2nd on goal difference?

Went to the game yesterday and we were full value for the win despite being below full strength. Former player Donovan Simmonds who in the build up made all sorts of comments on how they were going to thrash us did make a significant contribution, about 15 minutes from time he blazed a shot over the bar so high it was more suited to Twickenham, he virtually emptied the stand as the Chelmsford faithful voted with their feet and headed for the exit, they had seen enough and knew they were well beaten.

Bad result today losing 5-0 at home to Basingstoke although Chelmsford lost 1-0 to Bath. Salisbury were winning 1-0
against Welling.

It was a bizarre performance, just never looked like we would get anything out of the game. The unbeaten run had to end at some time and rather now than in the playoffs. Seems like midfielder Barry Cogan is out for the season following what looked like a broken shoulder, not an area where we have much cover either. Tuesday night we are away to Salisbury who beat champions elect Welling today, could be a long journey home.

So sad after a good run, but like martin said probably better to play badly now than in the final couple of games.
