We'll I can't believe that there hasn't been a specific thread on the Dover Tattoo on here unless I am mistaken !!
Friday and Saturday evenings are the main event including numerous military banks, Gurkha, White Helmets and the Tigers parachute team
Saturday is the Family Fun Day with a huge number of stalls, re-enactments and tours of Fort Burgoyne
So who is going ??
Been nice knowing you :)

I hadn't really noticed that there wasn't one, maybe because I'd seen lots of publicity about it around the Town and had sent at least two newsletters round, about it.
I think the tours around Burgoyne Heights will be good, but as we're hoping to go to Crabble Corn around lunchtime Saturday, we'll need time to relax in the afternoon, before the Tattoo, so probably won't be able to take one.

Looking good up there this evening, in fact I am amazed by the space available on the parade ground and it is probably bigger than that at Edinburgh Castle !!

First guy was ok and I think the second one had a hard landing, but I think it was the third guy that hit the tarmac extremely hard.
My thoughts are with him, his family and colleagues..

Saw parachutes coming down about 1915 to 1930 , would that have been them?

Thanks Kathy, hopefully he will be ok. Just rather shocked by how long it took to get the first aiders into the arena, he must have been on the ground for nearly 5 minutes before they got to him

Been nice knowing you :)

It was the third parachutist that had a bad landing. I was updated that he'd been transferred to Kings. I'll update once I have further confirmed news of his progress.
St John's were on the scene as quickly as it was possible without risking further harm to anyone. There were still parachutists descending so it was unsafe for them to enter the arena. Once the call for them to attend the scene was made by the Tigers' man on the ground they immediately came into the arena.
I'd like to thank the various professional medics who also rushed in to assist.

Thanks Tony.
Hope his injuries aren't too serious; it's a dangerous game jumping out of aeroplanes.

It certainly is Roger. Must say Alasdair Hutton handled the situation brilliantly while the parachutist was being attended.
His commentary was exceptional the entire evening. He's a quick-witted professional which you'd expect having been doing the job for a number of years, obviously Edinburgh Tattoo being the most well-known but he travels the world and is known as "The Voice of the Tattoo" for good reason.
