I was told today that it was cancelled because a vital person was too busy with their new business, how true I do not know you know how gossip goes.
I apologise if I was mis-informed.

The work of the Regatta is long and complicated and although it is run by the Regatta Events Ltd it is as most things are run by very few people and a couple of those know the ins and outs. This is fine sometimes but it puts a load of weight on those people shoulders. They work hard and they have other jobs as well, and I am sure that didnt help.

Shame someone can't jump on the opportunity for something like a classic car show along the front to take the place of the Regatta as presumably the road closures etc are already in place, but rather too short notice now I suppose :(
Been nice knowing you :)

is it good news though, will it be worthwhile for traders(especially those from across the channel) and fairground ride operators to set up for just one day?
i thought you were on the committee john.

Shame not to have a 2 day event, with the road closures etc in place why not even extend it into a classic car show or similar ?
