Dover Library must act

- 12 July 2013 12:13237183Just to let you know that I did forward a copy of my post to the community safety department. I didn't think that I'd get a repy let alone a phone call this morning! They have spoken to library staff,the PCSO,and the cleaning department and did take my concerns seriously. They have installed a new CCTV camera,in that area that isn't covered,this morning.

The many good people of Dover deserve so much better than this. Unless something is done to stamp out this growing social problem in the town centre (yes, town centre!) then it's going to get far, far worse, of that I have no doubt. - 12 July 2013 17:32237218As mentioned above, more cameras have been installed today, and this is an issue Libraries are taking very seriously. I spoke to a lady in the library today about this, and she said the 'management' do react to these issues when they know about them, such as in other locations. She did say though that the library managers can be contacted and alerted to the issues through the email address libraries@kent.gov.uk or to doverlibrary@kent.gov.uk if the email is marked FAO the manager.
Hopefully we can get these issues sorted soon!Greg - 12 July 2013 17:42237221i don't believe cctv to be the answer, rarely results in arrests and charges brought.
