Up there again today,0-0 and Dover did not get the ball out of their own half for the first 20mins,in the end at halftime the manger put himself on, and must say he was the best player out of the Dover lot.THey are going to have to play alot better then this to stay with the leaders, and forget about going up, that will never happen, and it is going to be hard to keep their supporters at this rate with the cost of seeing them about £1o or more a game, unless like me you get in for £9 (OAP]i HAVE NO MORE TO SAY ABOUT IT.

I miss very few Dover games but I was not at the game yesterday due to being at Crabble Corn Mill Fete, so I cannot comment on the actual game. However things are not as bad as you think they are Vic. It is a typical start of the season; just take a good look at the league table. Seven of the games in our league were draws yesterday. All but five teams have had 2 or 3 draws in the first 4 games and even those 5 have had 1 draw. Only six teams have not lost a game and Dover is one of them.
It is far too early to draw conclusions, we have got a lot of new players and they have to get used to each other so as I have said before give it 10 games or so.

Decent game on a beautiful surface, had we been bolder with the selection and played an extra forward I think we would have won, as it was we came within a whisker of losing it with a superb late tackle from Tom Wynter saving the day. Unbeaten or one win out of four? depends on how you approach life I suppose.

All I can say about this that Dover have some of the best supporters there is,we have yet to see Dover play at home well at the start of this season, and they were playing bad in the last six games or more of last season and yet some of the supporters stick up for them, well sorry I have going up there on and off from the late 1940s 1950s,till now ,so I will carry on saying what I see,and at this time it is not good football for 90mins,great if they win but if not but I have seen good football then that is also good, but we pay what I think is alot to see a good game of football and that is the one thing we are not seening. As I said the manger came on at half time and he was very good the best of the Dover players and he is 38 years old and he was showing us all how football should be played.

Dover are at Eastleigh on Saturday and I hope to be up there, Keith as Martin has said Chelmsford is our next home game on Tuesday evening.
Phil I am afraid there are some who want to be critical and go up there with negative vib's before a ball is even kicked. I have a lot of time for you Vic and it may be how you see the game but sorry to say old mate you do come across very negative.
My glass is half full, roll on Saturday.

Harry
i will reserve judgement until tuesday night as through work iv been unable to get up to crabble.
Of course the manager has been able last season to say it wasn't his side, and that can';t be used this year.
The season is a long one, all i ever ask is that if all 11 (and subs)give 100%
even if they lose(hopefully they wont) thats all i ask.
to be fair its a lot of dosh to shell out, last season saw some players going through the motions, if dover believe they can get in the play offs the above musthappen week in week out.

It was a very good game and we fully deserved the win it could have been more, their goal came first and was against the run of play but we kept our heads and kept coming at them. All three of our goals came from open play while their one was from a free kick.
All in all a great day out, looking forward to Tuesday and more of the same. Oh yes and we are now one of only three teams in the league who have not lost a game.

Lets hope Harry they can do it on Tuesday,I like like yourself will be behind the team winning or losing but only if they play good football and if that is the case I will stay till the end,and that will be the first time that has happen in over two years.

And yes well done to the team for last Saturday Win away ,they always play alot better when away.

when you pay £13 you do expect 100% every game but there quite a number of factors in with this.
dover are not full time and fitness will be an issue
2; dover has suffered from players last season who were playing to make the
numbers up and get a wage, this season the manager has his own team which
will take time to gel
3; yesterday dover beat the title favourites on there own ground which says a lot
that things are moving in the right direction.
4; i will always watch dover for 90 minutes wion lose or draw or how they play
as im a dover supporter through and through
5; i will be up there tuesday for first time this season due to work and hope to
see another 3 points and challenging at the top
whatever the outcome at the end of season i will still be a dover supporter

if your a true dover supporter you stand by the club through thick and thin
and dover have had lots of both of these.

All football teams have good and bad games as do players and very seldom is it because they are not putting in 100%. Eastleigh lost 3-1 and are getting slagged off by their fans. I would not say their loss was down to lack of effort, they gave their all to get back into the game, specially in the second half. when they hit the bar twice and if those Dover Fans that were there were honest, when our third goal went in, it was a relief.
So I do not get this "We did not win so we did not give 100%"
As to the cost, yes £!3 is a lot for people in this economical climate, but the overheads the club has are probably well in excess of what they get in finance through the turn style. We all want the best players, the best pitch, the best club but it comes at a price and you can not expect at non league level for the chairman and directors to keep putting thousands of pounds in. Just look ay Truro, that is what happens when support goes down and Chairman say enough is enough.
Dover has a good Board of Directors, a good ground which is far better than most in non league football. It has an "A" grading which makes it fit for league football and it has now got what looks to be a good team which need time to gel. All it needs is true loyal support through thick and thin.
