 - Sorry to report Dover is out of the FA cup this year lost to a team they should have won easy ,,must say it is looking bad for the club feel the management must act now or they will lose the support they are getting already the club is getting less of the public tuning up at each home match,

 - I will be with the club wherever they end up
This isn't the first time dovers gone through such strife .

The chairman may or may not stay

 Hopefully the club will survive

But it's looking like the national League would rather have ex football League clubs rather than the likes of Dover

 - Can't see Parmenter staying after the end of season. He built the club back up, but has now nearly destroyed it.

I had heard (third hand) that he allegedly had buyers for the club a while back, but then upped the price.

 - I admit I know B all about the ins and outs of football but it seems to me that the majority of clubs at whatever level are now run for the owners etc and no longer for the club supporters or even fans of the game.

When I was growing up the players were there for the love of the game, I am fairly certain a small local team like Dover would never have had to pay a player, now it is all about transfer fees and the vast fortune they earn if they get to the top.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

 - I do not class myself as a supporter of any football club but more of a follower of football with Dover being one of them, but My dad took me to see them in 1948 and I have been following them from that year, right up till now and will still follow them

 - Dover in football like a lot of small football clubs has to compete with players and even at the club the players have agents!

Dover has battled at a far higher level than it can probably afford .

Without doubt the chairman came in once club be some stable , and then set about getting grants
For a new stand , the social club redevelopment
And other ground improvements .And of course it's rumoured he paid towards some of the wages .

 But on the negative side
He hardly ever speaks to anyone in the ground

Many volunteers I know attended outside of games to help paint , or clean up around ground ,stopped going because they used to be given a free hamburger , he stopped all that .
Weigh up the cost of it he lost a lot of voluntary help.

He has in past asked community to get involved but they want to see someone who wants them to be there more than just for there money .

I will be there wherever they end up
 A true supporter

 Jan
You see also correct that money floods into the premier League and local clubs like Dover are left to go under

The FA cup rewards for winning ties was also reduced in earlier rounds (where small clubs enter)
And increased in later rounds where the premier clubs come in

Of course players wages and such like is all out of control now and unlikely to change

 - He's lost his job, Keith. He always was a miserable so and so. Times change. I doubt that he'll get the money he thinks he'll get from the sale of DAFC. Glad to hear that you'll keep flying the flag.

 - It's about being a real supporter Ray

I'm sure things will move on fairly quickly
As you say there isn't the support to buy out a club

It's more likely to go under again
I hope not. But there are so many things that could change the direction of the club

 Will chairman stay
 Will manager stay
 Will players stay
 ...

 If chairman leaves
I'm sure manager and many players won't be far behind .

I m no fan of the chairman but he's the latest of a line of people to keep the club going

Sadly Dover has not had the sponsorship it deserves
But control of the club and the chairman could be reasons on this .

Let's see what happens next I will be at crabble Saturday Vs Stockport who have just sacked there manager !

 - I have never been a football supporter but my son (15) and his friends have been going to recent matches and loving them, even when they lose!

I know nothing of running a football club, but to see how the youngsters today enjoy it, it's a shame that the club is in a state.

 - Sorry to say Dover lost 2-4 but they played well most of the match ,all they need is that first win, and then there will be no stopping them ,but it must come soon, The meal upstairs was like always very good and also a good viewing point.

 - It was 5-2.
They might win one but it won't lead to to a winning run. The players aren't up to NL standard.

 - In reality I think that's the best I have seen Dover
I think we are going down
At 2 2 I think could maybe of gone on to win but there keeper made a great save
They then broke away to score
Then we gave two more sloppy goals away .(those of us that watch to end knew it was 5-2)

If weather improves I might well go to Southend Tuesday but that's a true supporter
