Each day I have watched so many posts , and it's easy to get dragged into this , on how bad Dover may be .
Without doubt it is in many areas suffering , but on top of this it has so many positives which I feel is something that should get highlighted from time to time .
There are so many lovely walks around Dover which you can go miles on, together with breathtaking scenery
Often people can believe Dover is a no go area (if you believe some of the daily mail )
But in reality Dover has a lot going for it ,without doubt it's suffering .
But the area also has so many positives which often get overlooked

I don't need to agree or disagree

Just like many others here

Dover is no worse and in some ways probably better than almost any town in the UK.
99% of the inhabitants are friendly and helpful but far to much publicity goes to the 1% that are the dregs no town wants.

I found that it was only when I left Dover, that I started to appreciate all the good things about it. Like everything in life, you take what is on your doorstep for granted.

If all the agencies could work together
It could be better

Definitely and not come up with grandiose schemes and plans that are just a waste of money that would be better spent on what is actually needed.

Having been born in Dover in 1942 I have seen the best of the town and the not so good of the town,at this very time I think it is slow but on the way up again apart from all the shops closing down but that is happing over all the UK at this time, back to Dover all around Dover CLIFFS ,parks etc and still very good and are being looked after and the Castle is still the iceing on the cake ,if the town centre can get sorted out, that could make Dover a winner .

I know people, including me, can be negative, but we all live here so I guess we are allowed!
Having said that, when I go on my walks in and around the Dover countryside, I pass through history from Roman, Medieval, Victorian, WW1, WW2 and 21st Century periods, so I love living here.
Yes, it's got problems, but I'm quite happy living here, I just wish that the people in a position of being able to do something about it would look at what Dover could be.

Not cheap to find good house,s cheap you have to go to the highlands of Scotland to find them and a great place to live and work .

When I think of some of the depressing northern towns it's quite something to think that Dover is cheaper. Obviously no one wants to live here.

There not the work or the money because of the high cost of living down here, My daughter lives and works in Stoke and has a big house in the village of Keele very good wages and that house down here would be a good £40/000 or more to buy down here than up there. you would think the wages would be better than up there but that is not right they are lower down here, even if you can find work and that not easy

Is the average gross salary figure for a working couple rather than an individual? It sounds very high if it is the latter.
