"Inconsiderate parking" seems to be latest casualty of the gremlins.

Why not stay logged in all the time so much easier.

Considering the vile personal abuse from a small minority of posters that is allowed on here the thread was not that bad by any means.
My understanding is that posts deleted would be done so and obvious to us plebs but now we have the pretence that the thread never existed.

I find it difficult when posts need to be deleted
I'm not a great fan of it
unless of course its abuse

It was just easier for me to delete the entire topic rather than trying to pick through each reply and decide what to keep (which would have been very little).
In another discussion a while ago I mentioned about the fact that a lot of topics aren't very positive. Not much seems to have changed and I don't really want to spend my spare time reading through a lot of negative/moany stuff, so I'll probably be deleting more in future.

In other words more rule changes that suit admin that the membership are not aware of but spammers will continue to have a full run all day.

Rule changes that suit admin - admin being me...the person who pays to keep this website going (partially helped by advertising) and does it for enjoyment in my spare time. Yes, if that's how you want to look at it...rule changes that suit me! And I've made it clear several times in the past that I'm not happy with how it's going.
As for spammers, I've made changes recently that have helped cut down on this and I delete any that still get through as soon as I'm able to. Sorry if that's not good enough for you - would you like to be a moderator again?

Whilst I understand its more helpful to have positive posts
I hope this doesn't become just a lets all agree forum
One member was recently banned for not agreeing with Love Dover
open debate I find is much more constructive and helpful

I am quite happy with the way this group is run and as Chris says it is his site so he makes the rules.
There will always be disagreements which at times might annoy us but we are hopefully adults and can get over them, much as one does in any family or work situation. I love the banter and the more stimulating comments we get on here, this is the only group I have found that actually discusses things in an adult in depth way and I hope that never changes.
For those that simply want bland happy posts can I suggest they join the FB group Dover For The Delighted, nice pictures but little that is a really interesting read.

You're right Jan, a good balance would be great and I agree that it would be boring if everything was happy posts. But the opposite is also true - mostly negative posts make it equally boring, perhaps even more so, and in my opinion the negative currently outweighs the positive a little too much.
All I'd like is for a better balance - preferably brought on by members, but if not I'll be deleting some of the more moany stuff to make it happen myself.

The only problem with Chris's opinion is when does a fully justified negative group of posts on any given subject become boring.
Most of the time it will depend on whether the subject matter is of interest to that person. I personally find the Buses thread boring but that does not stop me reading or skimming through the replies.

Someone is either making assumptions or having a sense of humour failure. Or both.
