The big day on Saturday and as we know it is about us celebrating our diversity. Bearing in mind the ethnic make up of supporters it will need a large number to "black up" for the afternoon. Shouldn't be a problem this time of the year with only the face and sometimes hands viewable - a felt tip pen should do the trick.

On the so called "big day", if anything, I'll be celebrating who I am, where I've come from and my own culture.
I don't need telling by some pc lefties how I should think, act or behave. But I don't have a problem with anyone who so chooses to celebrate "diversity", good luck to them!

I cannot see what the above post has to do with Dover Football club and a club if it carries on the way it is with a good Chairman etc it good go a long way but they must over the next ten years move and get their own ground ,they must not wait to long .

Big today with the official opening of the new stand and with it being a diversity event, a chance for someone to limbo dance under the turnstile.

Apparently they got Charlie Elphicke to make the official opening, pity they didn't get someone famous to do it.

I wasn't available Howard anyway the rain would have ruined my hat.Pity the new stand isn't green it really stands out against the lovely back cloth of trees .Still I did get to see MK Dons .,when Dover played there.

Dover winning when I left 2.0 but I was very wet but a very good turnout about 1500 .The new stand was full up.I t is a first for Dover on this one as Dover is the very first club to have this kind of stand in the UK.

Attendance was just over 3000.
Well Dover legend David Leworthy was there scouting for Portsmouth, he would have been a better option.

Listening to club officials it appears theres a chance to extend this new stand even further so all good.
It was another great result keeping Dover right up there in 6th place.

It's lovely to see all these improvements, not much chance of them relocating to Whitfield then.
Just wish they would sort out the parking. The roads around River are a nightmare when football is on .Even on an away match cars are left on surrounding roads all day. There are only two ways out of River and a nightmare to get out.The buses struggle to keep Tom any sort of time ?If you live in The Ridgeway area best place is to stay in doors.Even some locals use their cars to get to the ground"
The Council have had years to Dort this out .Many years ago I went with an Officer to look at the old coke site, now has houses built there. This Officer has been retired some six years or more.
I have tried and tried to get Park and ride. The Council Offices car parks are empty and also Christchurch Academny.I have visited the club officially on a couple of occasions and saw their ground plans .
Hopefully an Officer will read this I know some support the club.

I do understand the issues to raise, but you should also look at the positives.
Dover has reached the highest league outside of the football league and punching well above it's weight for a part time club.
Dover folk should welcome such a success.
The club could only advise it's supporters not to use cars to go to/from ground, but when you get large crowds this will be an issue whatever the event.
Dover does marshall within its own ground, but outside its really about other agencies to work with the club to see if this can be resolved .

Hullo Keith yes agree that the club are doing do well, however I raise this issuie every so often with the vain hope someone will care enough to sort the traffic out. Both the District Councilors live close to the ground so do see the problems and yesterday Our MP would have seen the chaos .it seems so simple open a Park and a Ride at Whitfield When the Council have staged a couple of events in the Abbey park and Ride was used.
Having lived next to the ground for over twelve years I have seen it at close hand.
It just seems a shame that all it needs is for the football management and DDC to sit and discuss.Perhaps a few more could use the buses. Some supporters travel by train.

I understand where your coming from as you say many use the trains and buses but others do use cars.
I'm unsure if park and ride would work but it would be worth a try.

There isn't anyone who lives in Dover who is going to drive to Whitfield to get a bus to back into Dover.
Most of the roads near the ground are wide enough. Perhaps one side of Crabble Avenue could be coned off as that is narrower and after the game yesterday for instance a bus coming from St Radigunds was having problems.
