They always choose celebrities of whom I have never heard. Perhaps I ought to get out more.

I had to look both of them up, Scott Maslen was also in The Bill so I know who he is.

I've never heard of either but they usually choose people that youngsters know.

I wish those who run the rest of the town had as much get up and go as Peter, especially when you think how the Charlton Centre has improved since he has been in charge.

Yes, Peter is doing a great job at the Charlton Centre. On day of Christmas Cheer ( day of lights switch on) he is working with Dover town council and there will be events throughout town and at the centre. Will try and work out how to put programme on here! Lights switch on is 5.30 with members of the cast of Marlowe's Theatre Pantomime, Aladdin.

April, May and Morena, my youngest girls, will be performing some songs, both individually and together, for half an hour at the Charlton Centre between 11:15 and 11:45. A sample of their performance from the Regatta in the summer is included here.

A message from Dover Tales who will be performing on the day -
We'll be taking the tale of how Widred King of Kent won the day and in gratitude to St Martin built St Martins Priory in Dover Town, Martin being the towns Saint to this very day.
This is a secular play but nevertheless St Martin is a pretty good role model as The Vatican themselves note: " Martin helps us understand that it is only through a common commitment to sharing that (we) can meet the great challenge of our time: to build a world of peace and justice, in which everyone can live in dignity ... a global model of authentic solidarity, able to ensure all inhabitants of the planet food, water, medical care, but also work and energy resources, and cultural, scientific and technological knowledge".
All that good stuff aside the play features sword fights and a special song what we wrote, a degree of audience participation is encouraged but please no heckling or jeering and maybe leave the sword fighting to us?
Our proposed schedule is:
10.15 St Marys Parish Hall
10.45 Market Square near Discovery Centre
11.30 Biggin Street
12.15 The Rack of Ale
but of course all of that will be subject to prevailing weather conditions!

A shame we are not getting those lovely lights from Costa Coffee this year, they made the Market Square look magical.

Both lights look alright to me Brian.
Perhaps these people would be worth a visit?
