Just this morning Chris Huhne, along with his ex wife Vicky Pryce, has been charged with perverting the course of justice. It is alleged that he was driving a car while speeding... but she indicated inaccurately to the proper authorities that she was the one driving...but not so...it seems.
It all came to light when Huhne left his wife and they filed for divorce...oh dear! Bitter!
Bullet proof Huhne, known for his iron clad visage, may now have to resign from the government where he is Energy Minister. Huhne is a Libdem, so a batch of Libdems if not already resigned, appear to be hanging by a thin thread. One ponders on the ups and downs of Cable and Laws.
The latest on this is that Nick Clegg the Libdem party leader will be making an announcement shortly. Looks like its political curtains for Huhne.

No chance he goes for Cable as well. It is alleged Vicky Pryce told Cable & Mrs Clegg.
So presumably Mr Clegg knew as well.
Where does that leave him. Could be interesting if they are called to give evidence.

Yes indeed a very interesting situation. No tears deserved for Huhne, one of the Cabinet liabilities.

I was looking forward to meeting him a couple of years ago to see what he was like in person but missed out - it was at a Univ of Kent benefactor's garden party, he and his wife were among the top names on the guest list as she was a graduate of the university.
They didn't turn up, it was the day he left her.

The honourable thing? It was the only thing he could do. He could not have stayed in the cabinet with these charges hanging over him and if he had not resigned he would have definitely been sacked. What he is alleged to have done could hardly be called honourable either - and its not just what he is charged with either....

took him long enough to do the "honourable" thing, probably after dave told him to.
Indeed - I suspect he was trying to cling on and had a nudge. Disgraceful man. And totally lacking in charm.

People, people, be fair. The man is under enough pressure in his quest to save us all from Armageddon without this extra fuss. Let's face it if anyone can save our world it is indeed he.
Without Mr. Huhne at the helm how on Earth will be survive? I mean, as you all know, he has done his best by increasing our energy bills and beautifying the countryside and our shores with beautiful wind turbines. Oh the humanity!
Indeed China, Russia, India and a whole host of other nations are finally listening to his rallying call and have announced their commitment to his cause and will cease all industrial production by the end of the week.
Such a shame, such a waste.
A fine man and a great asset to our country.

Just goes to show you cann,t hide the truth will always out in the end, no matter how you try to cover it up and if you are in postion of trust its worse to lie, I have no sympathy for the man.

I know Howard. Unfortunately mine only goes up to 30 degrees so only a few hundred slaughtered overnight but i've put a single sock in the tumble drier and it's been spinning happily for five hours now. I'd guess that'll raise world temperatures by at least 0.07% which is a great start I'm sure you'll agree.
To bring you up to date Mr. Watkins the ftse stands at 1.81% showing that by shutting down industrial production and employing green measures the world economy really improve.
Actually it's bad news on the DECC front. Huhne's successor sounds like he maybe an even greater Herbert than seven houses Hoon ever was. Reminds me of successive England football managers promising a world cup win and failing dismally.
Expect more of the same from Ed Davey, possibly worse.

Philip the word is he is more economically inclined & malleable.
Time will tell.
I normally have some sympathies for Ministers who have failings, who does not, but not this one. i.e. Huhne

Vicky Pryce now convicted too. Shame they weren't both charged with conspiracy.
