Very sorry, getting rather bored of the good/Dover related stuff getting relegated down the pages, to be replaced by endless and daily political threads with pointless bickering which I have absolutely no interest in.
Signing off and taking a break from the forum, I may occasionally look in and probably be back sometime....
Bye !!!!!

Been nice knowing you :)

bit over the top paul a lot of threads on local events are started(mainly by me) but they don't get much response but when politics comes on many join in and take the top billing.
funnily enough i am just slagging a local event off on the "safety day" thread.
Sad. Your posts are always a pleasure to see.

Usually I read the threads on local events; not to necessarily join in with a comment doesn't mean they are not being noticed.

Please keep posting your posts are so informative and interesting, but sadly I can understand where you are coming from.

I understand and agree. I do ignore the political posts. When posts about local problems turn to politics its such a shame.
Bye Paul, maybe chat elsewhere.

I know how you feel Paul, some days I look at a post and it starts with a link, it doesn't matter what the post is about you already know what's going to creep in.
If I wanted to talk about that I would go onto Barry's blog, No disrespect to Barry but Iv'e never logged onto it.

I am with you Paul
Whilst I pop in regularly, I have reduced my postings considerably as there is so little of genuine local interest these days. If I want national topics I will read the news, what I want from a local forum is discussion of what is going on locally preferably with no reference to national politics.

I agree with you Paul. Let's have some more genuine Dover local interest with no reference to party politics.

How should we respond if we do not go to the event or are not even interested in said event.

It's been mooted before that a separate politics forum be introduced, how about it?
Out of interest I never read anything started by Keith, Barry or Reg yet whatever the subject they will bring politics in.

thats a full house terry.

But politics can creep in to most things. We have a very vocal NHS thread at the moment which of course steps into politics!! I agree we need more variety, and even I get annoyed with the political banging on - that's probably why I join in!! My bad. Perhaps I should stop and it might slow down!!
But please don't go Paul. And Ross - i didn't realise that was why you had posted less. I am sorry.

Terry,
There are thirteen verging on or are political threads on page one, certainly unlucky for some.

Howard is right above, we have tried many times with non political topics and they dont often get the response..if you look back you will see generally the ones with the long runs are political. We do try and do as much local stuff as we can...but and to be political for a moment.. we are all in it together..so members can post what they want to talk about themselves. Its a self help thing.
Hopefully Paul you will have a wee rest and return in fine fettle. You have been here since they floated Noahs Ark..
