there seems to be a deliberate mistake towards the end of this article.
who will spot it first?

"In addition there are other important developments in our area. The Dover Town Team has won £10,000 for its Portas Project, after I signed up to support its excellent work. This will help take forward the exciting market and Bluebird tourist trail idea."
They kept this quiet?

well spotted tom unless david has been holding out on us or spent it down the pub or a down payment of a market manager?

Its not a case of keeping it quiet Tom, there is a £10k "consolation prize" which Charlie has to apply for on our behalf, he was chased up last week which I guess has prompted his piece in the Express.
The next stage is for the money to be sent from Central Govt via DDC, to be honest I'll believe it when I see it as its been dragging on for a while.

a few inaccuracies in the article david, firstly i had an ecg done at my gp's surgery - no need to go to ashford.
the sea front does not need a transformation, we are lucky to have one of the best promenades around, i do wish charlie would stop all this as it discourages people from visiting.

I just read it and couldn't see the seafront mentioned.
I'm not having a go at Charlie I think he works very hard and the £10k is out of his hands, believe me if we get it I'll keep you informed

That constant misleading information that Charlie keeps giving about Dover's seafront, or the Castle!
Is he doing this to promote his own agenda??

Giving further thought to Charlie's misleading information about the seafront, it clearly can't be for the consumption of local people here. So who is he trying to get a message over to? Ours is the most beautiful seafront in the world!
By representing Dover's image as he does, he's not doing his credibility any favours.
People will answer back, such as on the comments page under his news release on This Is Kent.

Thanks David, but I'm not after a job, just wanting to improve Dover. If you ever get enough money for a T.T. Manager, I can recommend someone.
Thanks Keith.

fully agree alex, charlie needs to check his facts before he speaks sometimes. bashing the castle and seafront does nothing to suggest to potential visitors that dover is worth visiting.

Yes Charlie did similar before in a tv interview. Spoke of the .."years of neglect of Dover Seafront ". It was enough to make a citizen spit so it was, as we have had no neglect whatsoever on Dover seafront. Buoyant hotels and restaurants and so on,. here we have something in tip top condition with masses of Seachange money spent on it..where's the neglect?? I'll see if I can find a picture..in a minute..here we are
and the gardens...

looks so run down doesn't it?
i remember the launch of dppt when charlie spoke to the people from his pulpit on the sea sports centre.
surely he must have noticed something then?

As you can see by the above pictures I have to totaly disagree with Charlie, just take alook at some of the other coastal seafronts and ours by far outshines.
DHB my not be everyones favourite organization, but one thing they have done is keep our seafront looking good, and the people who live there can vouch for that.
CHECK IT OUT NEXT TIME YOUR IN TOWN CHARLIE.

This Sea-front used to be full of activity, vibrant and enjoyed by a mixture of commerce and pleasure.
I feel you are rather glamourising the Sea-front with these photographs, like a tour guide. You are only showing one half. The other half of the promanade, in front of the Grimway Flats, has no access to the Beaches.
Nothing is allowed to happen there, in case the residents are upset etc.
You need to look more closely at it all, the Sea-front is a dead entity for ordinary people. It is a nothing situation, controlled by a dying elite.

i am down there a lot and there always activity, the seasports centre is thriving again providing us with action to watch from the promenade or pier.
my main groans are madcap cyclists and dog mess but otherwise i think it is great.
there are events held during the year but there could be things like a vintage car rally, flea market or similar to take ful advantage of the seafront.
